NFL Rumors: Latest on 49ers Trading Deebo Samuel

Sometimes relationships need some work and San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch is hopeful with a little conversation and some compromise, wide receiver Deebo Samuel can stay a member of the 49ers for years to come. Samuel recently requested a trade, a demand that shocked 49ers management.

There were many offers flying in during the NFL's draft weekend, however Lynch stood his ground and wanted to give his organization some more time to try and keep the talented wide out. Lynch spoke to KNBR's Tolbert & Copes earlier this week and had this to say:

We're trying really hard with Deebo to work through whatever the issues might be. I always have really believed that there is a sacredness to those conversations remaining private, especially with things like this. ... I don't think (the obstacles) are insurmountable. I think we can find a way to resolution, and we're hopeful for that because we know what he's been to this organization. Thirty-sixth pick in 2019, and he's been so good on and off the field. Obviously, a tremendous player. ... He makes us better. I think we make him better. And we're hopeful that we get everything right and that we're rolling forward.

Samuel is looking for more touches and is open to being moved to do so. The 26-year-old is in the prime of his career and feels he can contribute more. Let's see if the 49ers are willing to make changes to their offensive schemes or will they receive an offer they can't refuse. Decisions, decisions.
