3 Teams Calling Packers About Same Cornerback
Per Easton Butler, three teams have reached out to the Packers about the availability of Carrington Valentine: the Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins, and Cincinnati Bengals.
Valentine is entering the final year of his rookie deal, scheduled to make $3.7 million this season.
How This Started
The Steelers beat the Packers 28-9 last Thursday, getting a firsthand look at Valentine before turning around and calling about him five days later. He'd just returned to full 11-on-11 drills that same week after a hamstring injury suffered August 2 had slowed him in camp.

Valentine has started 30 games across his first three seasons since Green Bay took him in the seventh round of the 2023 draft, giving any acquiring team a rare combination of experience and remaining cost control.
Why Miami Makes The Most Sense
The Dolphins hired former Packers executive Jon-Eric Sullivan as their new general manager in January, and less than two weeks later brought in Blake Hafley, Green Bay's defensive coordinator from 2024 to 2025, as their new head coach.
IF the Cincinnati Bengals are asking about Moeller alum Carrington Valentine, this would not be a Billy Price for B.J. Hill situation.

Valentine is a starter who's contract eligible. The Bengals have two cornerbacks who match that description.

Since then, Miami has stocked its roster with former Packers ties, signing former Green Bay backup quarterback Malik Willis as their starter, adding tight end Ben Sims, and hiring six former Packers coaches.
Cincinnati And Pittsburgh Are In The Mix Too
The Bengals have their own specific need. DJ Turner and Dax Hill are locked in as starters, but Hill is already dealing with a hamstring issue of his own, and the depth behind them, DJ Ivey and rookie Tacario Davis, is largely unproven.
Valentine, a Cincinnati native who attended Archbishop Moeller High School before starring at Kentucky, would double as a homecoming story if a deal came together.
Green Bay has to consider whether to keep a proven starter for one more year, or use a crowded cornerback room, with rookie Micah Cisse also pushing for reps, to recoup draft capital before Valentine reaches free agency next spring.
