Jaguars to Share Workload Between Their Two Running Backs?

According to ESPN's Michael DiRocco, Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne will be "heavily featured in the offense" even with the return of James Robinson.

Earlier last week, DiRocco wrote that Etienne will likely lead the Jaguars backfield out of the gate, regardless of Robinson's status. He also said that even if Robinson is cleared to play in the opener, Etienne will lead the way early on. However, as the season progresses he figures that Robinson's workload will as well.

Now, it's starting to sound like there will be a 50-50 share of the workload, as James Robinson has returned to a full workload.

The most likely possibility is that Robinson will get work between tackles and goal-line situations, while Etienne works the third-downs, two-minute drill, and other downs. The Jaguars also apparently want to use Etienne on pass-routes out of the backfield and also line him up out wide.

This is all merely speculation as of right now, but we will, of course, find out for sure in the coming weeks.
