Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Declares Himself Ready for Week 1

After an offseason full of stops and starts, it appears Juju Smith-Schuster is ready for the regular season. The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver recently asserted his troublesome knee was "fully healed." Pete Sweeney of Arrowhead Pride shared the details:

A second-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2017 NFL Draft, Smith-Schuster burst onto the scene as a joyful, explosive playmaker at the wide receiver position. Though incredibly efficient as a rookie, managing 65.5 receiving yards per game on an amazing 11.6 yards per target, he truly broke out in his second year, hauling in 111 passes for 1426 yards in his lone Pro Bowl season. Since then, Smith-Schuster has seen his availability, production, and efficiency all decline steeply; he has accounted for a mere 1512 receiving yards and a disappointing 6.7 yards per target across his last three seasons.

Still somehow only 25, Smith-Schuster comes to the Chiefs hoping to recapture some of the explosiveness that made him one of the league's most promising young stars. Finally healthy, he'll have ample opportunity to prove himself in an offense that is eager to replace the production lost by recently traded Pro Bowler Tyreek Hill.
