Bills Declare Star Corner Out for Week 8

The Buffalo Bills will have to wait a little bit longer to see one of their premier defensive players back in the fold. Head coach Sean McDermott announced cornerback Tre'Davious White will miss Sunday Night Football's matchup with the Green Bay Packers. White has yet to play since an ACL tear suffered in November of 2021. He returned to practice on October 12th but did not appear in the team's glorious 24-20 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. There was hope that a Week 7 bye would be enough time for him to ramp back up to game readiness, but he'll apparently need at least another week.

Whenever White does return, he should provide a boost to what is already one of the league's elite defenses. The Bills rank first in points allowed and yards allowed per game, and their already exceptional pass defense has nabbed the most interceptions in the league while holding opposing offenses to 5.5 net yards per attempt.

White joined the Bills as their 27th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He quickly established himself as one of the league's better cornerbacks, finishing second in AP Defensive Rookie of the Year voting in 2017 and earning his first of two Pro Bowls in 2019. He ended last season allowing an excellent 59.9 passer rating on throws in his direction.
