Cowboys Star Expected To Miss Week 8

The Dallas Cowboys had finally gotten back to full strength when Dak Prescott returned to face the Lions in Week 7, but during that game, their star running back Ezekiel Elliott was injured, and while the Cowboys still don't believe it's a long-term injury, it is enough to most likely keep him out of the Week 8 battle with the Chicago Bears, as the team have elevated rookie Malik Davis to the active roster.

No official word has come through on his status just yet, but according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, it's more than likely that he will be inactive for Week 8, a good more for a Dallas team that should be able to take care of the Bears even without their biggest offensive star.

With Prescott back, a solid backup in Tony Pollard and a great group of weapons, led by Dalton Schultz, CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup, this team is as balanced as any in the NFC. Despite this, it's still worrying that Elliott's injury was enough to potentially force him to miss a game, so Cowboys fans may have to hold their breath until he is announced as healthy enough to return.
