Cardinals Wide Receiver Unlikely for MNF

The Arizona Cardinals are fighting for their playoff lives at 4-6, and they may have to find a way to get by without one of their key stars when they face the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football in Week 11. NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports wide receiver Marquise Brown will miss tomorrow night's game.

Brown has been unavailable since injuring his foot late in the Cardinals' Week 6 19-9 defeat at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks. He remains the Cardinals' leading receiver with his 485 receiving yards despite his three missed games.

With starting quarterback Kyler Murray's status in doubt and third-leading receiver Zach Ertz out for the season, the Cardinals could be alarmingly shorthanded for their crucial divisional matchup with the 49ers. An eighth loss could all but put an end to their playoff aspirations.

Brown joined the Cardinals via blockbuster trade with the Baltimore Ravens during this year's NFL Draft. A former college teammate of Kyler Murray at Oklahoma, Brown hit the ground running with his new team, averaging a career-high 80.8 receiving yards per game across his first six starts. If the Cardinals can keep their season alive, he'll eventually form a dangerous tandem with fellow wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins missed the first six games of the season due to a suspension.
