NFL Rumors: Cowboys Favorites to Land OBJ

The long Odell Beckham courting saga may be coming to its conclusion. Citing an executive linked to a team also in pursuit of the wide receiver, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Dallas Cowboys are significant favorites to land Beckham for the stretch run of the season.

Beckham has been unavailable since tearing his ACL in the Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl LVI win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Details of an upcoming visit with the Cowboys in December emerged earlier this week, suggesting he'll be unlikely to play a significant role until the last few weeks of the regular season.

Beckham was slow to contribute last year for the Rams when he joined the team midseason, even without a major injury to rehab. He averaged an underwhelming 38.1 receiving yards per game and 6.4 yards per target in eight regular season games for the Rams before eventually emerging as a valuable target in the postseason. He averaged 72.0 yards per game and 11.1 yards per target during the Rams' playoff run despite missing much of the Super Bowl.

If Beckham has successfully recovered from his injury and can get up to speed on a relatively truncated timeline, he should be able to find a place on an explosive Cowboys offense poised to do some damage in the postseason. The team has averaged 33.8 points per game since quarterback Dak Prescott returned from a thumb injury in Week 7.
