NFL Rumors: Rams Turned Down Several Offers For Disgruntled Running Back

Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers has been inactive for a few weeks for what the Rams have declared 'personal reasons', but he has made it clear that he wants to be traded and doesn't have any interest in playing for Los Angeles going forward, but for some reason, the team reportedly turned down several trade offers for the back ahead of yesterdays NFL trade deadline.

The team is now looking to work with Akers to get him back on the field for LA in 2022, and while we don't know exactly what the trade offers for Cam involved, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the Rams to not accommodate his request. There's a chance that the two sides can come to an agreement to get him playing for Los Angeles yet again, but it's certainly interesting to hear that the team not only had offers they turned down, but offered Akers to Carolina as a part of the Brian Burns deal which was turned down also.

Los Angeles have certainly struggled in 2022, and while Akers absence isn't the reason for all that, getting an asset back for him would have made great sense, but now, we look forward, and will continue to monitor the situation to see if the Rams can get Akers back on the field, or if this was a major missed opportunity.
