Commanders Head Coach Throws Support Behind Quarterback

The Washington Commanders fell to the New York Giants in Week 15, sending them back to fourth place in the NFC East, making their route to the 2022 playoffs that much harder, and for some fans around the league, it calls into question the starting Quarterback position in Washington.

For Head Coach Ron Rivera however, there's absolutely no question as to who the leader of this team is, as he threw plenty of support behind Taylor Heinicke over Carson Wentz, the veteran who went down with an injury after struggling early in the season.

Rivera said no QB change. "Stick with Taylor and what we're trying to establish... It is something to be quite frank, I do have to think about at some point. But if we get back on track and play the way we've played and do the things we've done, then we'll stick where we are."

While Heinicke doesn't look like an elite Quarterback, he's clearly the best option for this team, as they've played well under him over the past few years, and with 10 Touchdowns to just 5 Interceptions on the season, he's helping them win, so it makes sense that Rivera wants to stick with him as QB1.
