Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver Undergoes Surgery

According to Dallas Cowboys beat writer Michael Gehlken, wide receiver Michael Gallup underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and right ankle.

The surgery doesn't sound very serious, as Gehlken writes that it "gives Gallup his best chance of a healthy 2023." Gallup returned early this season after recovering from a torn ACL suffered during the 2021 season.

In 14 games this season, the twenty-six-year-old receiver hauled in 39 receptions for 424 yards and four touchdowns on 74 targets.

Gallup's contract runs through the 2026 season, and with a poor 2023 season, the Cowboys could be looking for new options as the team's new WR2 beside CeeDee Lamb.

However, given that he was coming off an ACL tear, it's safe to say that Gallup should have a more productive 2023 season.

Regardless, the Cowboys will likely pursue Odell Beckham Jr. in free agency this offseason.
