Los Angeles Chargers Name New Defensive Coordinator

The Los Angeles Chargers have already hired one new Coordinator this off-season, and after their Defensive Coordinator left to join the Miami Dolphins staff earlier today, they've now found his replacement, and will be working with a new staff this upcoming season.

Instead of going through an interview process, the Chargers decided to promote from within, as they officially plan to promote Derrick Ansley, the current defensive backs coach to the DC role, while promoting Tommy Donatell to the secondary coach/pass game coordinator role.

The 41-year old is a promising young coach, and has worked under Brandon Staley for the past two seasons, and is considered by many to be a future Head Coach in the NFL, so it's not very surprising that LA would promote him to the DC role, and now, they'll look to build on a promising 2022 season.
