NFL Rumors: Cincinnati Bengals Star Wide Receiver Could Be Traded

According to The Athletic's Paul Dehner Jr. the Cincinnati Bengals "could" trade wide receiver Tee Higgins for a top draft pick if contract extension numbers are "outrageous and it's clear the two sides won't see eye to eye."

With the Bengals already having to give Joe Burrow a huge contract extension this offseason, and then Ja'Marr Chase in 2024, it just might not be possible for the team to keep and pay all three players.

It doesn't help that Higgins posted WR1 numbers this past season, recording 74 catches for 1,029 yards and seven touchdowns on 109 targets over 16 games.

It's also interesting to note that Higgins is represented by the same agent as safety Jessie Bates, David Mulugheta, who led the Bengals through long and unproductive extension talks over the last two seasons.

The Bengals will probably play out the final year of Higgins' rookie deal, but it's still a situation to keep an eye on.
