NFL Rumors: Denver Broncos Linked to Star Running Back

After heading into the 2022 season with high hopes, the Denver Broncos ended up having a truly horrible year. Russell Wilson was immensely underwhelming in his first year as Bronco, and they finished the year with a 5-12 record and at the bottom of the AFC West. This is unacceptable, and now they are ready to make big changes because of it. With this, they are expected to make a major push for Tony Pollard.

Pollard is coming off of a fantastic season with the Dallas Cowboys, and he is a very appealing free-agent target because of it. It was truly a breakout year for him, as he had nine touchdowns, 1,007 rushing yards, and 193 total rushes - which are all new career highs. With that, he was named to his first Pro Bowl, so he has elevated his game rather noticeably. Thus, it makes all the season in the world for the Broncos to try to bring him in to provide a needed spark to their offense.

Wilson is going to need more offensive weapons heading into 2023 if the Broncos have any chance of him bouncing back. Thus, adding in a star running back like Pollard could provide a bit less pressure on Wilson. We will now need to wait and see if the Broncos end up successfully signing him from here.
