NFL Rumors: Tennessee Titans Linked To Veteran Free Agent Quarterback

There have been rumblings around the league that the Tennesse Titans may be looking to upgrade at the quarterback position this offseason.

One name, in particular, has been linked to the Titans, that being QB Jimmy Garoppolo.

Even NFL Network's Ian Rapoport spoke on The Pat McAfee Show recently, indicating that the Titans may try and go after Garoppolo this offseason.

Some would argue that bringing in Garoppolo would add no upgrade to the position that Ryan Tannehill doesn't already bring.

Let's compare the two veteran quarterback's 2022 seasons:

Jimmy Garoppolo

  • 31-Years Old
  • 11 Games Played
  • Completed 207-of-308 Pass Attempts (67.2 CMP%) for 2,437 Yards
  • 16 Touchdowns
  • 4 Interceptions
  • Passer Rating of 103.0 (Second-Highest of His Career)
  • 23 Rush Attempts for 33 Yards and 2 Touchdowns

Ryan Tannehill:
  • 34-Years Old
  • 12 Games Played
  • Completed 212-of-325 Pass Attempts (65.2 CMP%) for 2,536 Yards
  • 13 Touchdowns
  • 6 Interceptions
  • Passer Rating of 94.6
  • 34 Rush Attempts for 98 Yards and 2 Touchdowns

At this stage of the two QBs' careers, Garoppolo definitely brings more value than Tannehill and would add more skill and versatility to the Titans' pass game while pairing nicely with Derrick Henry's formidable run game.
