Washington Commanders Lock In Long-Awaited Interview With Chiefs OC

They're finally getting the interview.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Washington Commanders will interview Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator, Eric Bieniemy, for their vacant OC position on Thursday.

Ron Rivera and the Commanders have been trying to get this interview for a while now and will finally get it.

Washington has been very open about their desire to speak to the two-time Super Bowl-winning offensive coordinator and now they have their chance to do just that.

With Rivera wanting a 2-to-1 run-to-pass ratio in 2023, and Bieniemy leading one of the most pass-heavy offenses in the league with Patrick Mahomes, the two working together would be interesting.

It seems hard to imagine Bieniemy going from two-time MVP Mahomes to the Commanders' offense, who currently have Sam Howell as their QB1.

Regardless, Bieniemy is still a frontrunner to land the job, and it should be interesting to see how this all plays out.
