Bears To Re-Sign Veteran Quarterback

The Chicago Bears are reportedly retaining veteran quarterback Nate Peterman for the 2022-23 season, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Peterman will now reportedly enter his second straight year as a member of Chicago's quarterback room, which includes QB1 Justin Fields, and he will enter his seventh season in the NFL as primarily a backup.

Peterman, who entered the league with the Bills as a fifth-round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, spent two seasons with Buffalo, and two with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders, before his eventual signing with the Bears on May 11, 2022. He spent time on Chicago's practice squad before his elevation to their active roster when quarterback Justin Fields was injured last season on November 26th.

The 28-year-old signal-caller has appeared in 13 games with five starts in his career in which he has completed 85/160 passes for 712 yards, and four touchdowns.
