NFL Trade Rumors: Patriots & Bengals Could Strike Trade

The New England Patriots selected Drake Maye with the third overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. The expectation is that Maye will become the franchise's long-term starting QB. With this being the case, the Patriots need to give him better offensive weapons to work with if they hope for him to have a solid first season in the league.

Because of this, the Patriots have been browsing the trade market for wide receivers. As a result, one player who is reportedly on their radar at this juncture is Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tee Higgins.

Higgins has been a big name in the rumor mill all offseason, but at the time of this writing, he still remains with the Bengals. Yet, there is a very good chance that this will change before the start of the season, as he is notably disgruntled with the Bengals due to his contract.

Higgins, 25, would be a strong addition to the Patriots' offense, as he has shown throughout his career that he can be quite impactful. He would immediately become one of the Patriots' top receivers if acquired, so it is an avenue that the Pats should seriously be considering.

In 58 career games over his four seasons, he has 24 touchdowns, 257 receptions, and 3,684 receiving yards.

We will now need to wait and see if the Patriots and Bengals strike a deal centering around Higgins from here.
