Saints Release Wide Receiver After 3 Seasons With Team
The New Orleans Saints have released wide receiver Marquez Callaway, bringing a swift end to his brief return to the team.
Callaway, who initially joined the Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2020, had a four-year stint with the organization, recording 83 catches for 1,069 yards and seven touchdowns over 45 games.
After being released by the Pittsburgh Steelers in July following a short stint with them, Callaway re-signed with the Saints on August 1, hoping to revive his career in familiar territory.

Despite his past contributions to the team, Callaway's second tenure with the Saints was short-lived.
He participated in the team's preseason opener but failed to make a significant impact, which likely influenced the team's decision to release him.
The Saints made this move to create space on their 90-man roster for wide receiver Shaq Davis, who had previously been with the team on the practice squad and injured reserve in 2023 and had recently spent the offseason with the Philadelphia Eagles.

As the Saints continue to refine their lineup ahead of the 2024 season, Callaway will be looking for another opportunity to catch on with a new team before the regular season begins.
