As the 2025 NFL season looms, New York Jets running back Breece Hall's future with the team remains uncertain. 

Despite assurances from head coach Aaron Glenn earlier this offseason, questions about Hall's place in the Jets’ long-term plans are growing louder. Hall, entering the final year of his rookie contract, has been linked to trade rumors, especially after the Jets extended stars from their 2022 draft class, including Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner, but have not committed to Hall for the future. 

The speculation has only intensified after reports surfaced that the Jets could move the former second-round pick before the trade deadline.

Breece Hall's Future with Jets in Doubt Amid Trade Speculation

Hall’s impact on the field has been undeniable. After a stellar rookie season cut short by an ACL injury, he has been a consistent contributor for the Jets, both in the running game and the passing attack. Last season, he rushed for 876 yards and five touchdowns while also catching 57 passes for 483 yards. However, Hall’s role in the offense may shift in 2025, as the Jets plan to utilize a committee approach with Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis both in the mix. 

Allen, entering his second year, showed promise in the preseason, and the Jets' coaching staff has hinted at a larger role for him, which raises further questions about Hall’s future.

With Hall set to become a free agent next spring and the Jets' backfield growing deeper, trade talks around the 24-year-old running back could heat up as the season progresses. If Hall starts the 2025 campaign strong, his trade value could soar, making him an attractive piece for teams looking to bolster their backfield.
