NFL Rumors: Alvin Kamara Makes Shocking Comments About Being Traded

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara reacts during 2024 game.

With the New Orleans Saints sitting at 1-5, Alvin Kamara trade rumors resurfaced as contenders checked on the five-time Pro Bowler.

Kamara pushed back hard.

He reiterated that he wants to remain in New Orleans, joked that he and general manager Mickey Loomis were the Spider-Man meme when they saw the report, and added that if he were told he was being moved, he would go drink a piña colada somewhere. It was a pointed way to say retirement would be preferable to playing elsewhere.

Kamara has dealt with an ankle issue, yet he returned to practice on a maintenance plan and has started all six games. Through Week 6 he has 314 rushing yards on 83 carries with one touchdown, plus 22 catches for 122 yards.

He turned 30 in July and signed an extension during the 2024 season that runs through 2026, which helps explain why both player and team keep stressing continuity.

What it means for New Orleans at the deadline

Trade chatter will not vanish while the Saints work to climb back, but Kamara’s stance likely cools real offers. If New Orleans does pivot to accumulate picks, attention shifts to other names.

Wide receiver Chris Olave has drawn calls during the slow start, and wide receiver Rashid Shaheed could surface if the club decides to retool. There is also a non-zero chance the Saints avoid a sell-off entirely, ride a favorable stretch of schedule, and reassess later.
