NFL Rumors: Ex-Commanders LB Bobby Wagner Linked to AFC Team

Bobby Wagner is one of the top free agents still available for the taking with late April here. When noting that the veteran linebacker is still an impactful player at this stage of his career and has a fantastic resume, it will only be a matter of time before he lands his next contract.

Now, a new team is being linked to Wagner with May right around the corner.

In a recent article for CBS Sports, Bryan DeArdo predicted that Wagner will end up signing with the Cincinnati Bengals in free agency.

When looking at the Bengals' roster, there is no question that they could use a player like Wagner on it. They need to improve at the linebacker position, and bringing in a veteran like Wagner would help them do just that. He would upgrade their defense nicely and could be a perfect fit on a Bengals team that is looking to bounce back from their tough 2025 season.

Wagner is coming off a solid 2025 season with the Commanders, as he recorded 4.5 sacks and 162 combined tackles. With numbers like these, he can still make a difference on the field and would be a good player for the Bengals to bring in because of it.

It will be interesting to see if the Bengals end up being the team that signs Wagner from here, but the fit looks good on paper.
