NFL Rumors: Ex-Patriots Star Stefon Diggs Linked to NFC Team

Stefon Diggs, New England Patriots

The New England Patriots made a notable decision earlier this offseason when they released wide receiver Stefon Diggs. This is after he had four touchdowns, 85 receptions, and 1,013 receiving yards for New England this past season.

Now, with April here, Diggs is still a free agent and looking for his next contract.

With Diggs being one of the best free agents left, he should generate interest from multiple teams this offseason. Teams in need of a boost at the wide receiver position should be in the mix for the four-time Pro Bowler, and he is now being linked to an interesting team from the NFC North.

In a recent article for CBS Sports, Garrett Podell named the Minnesota Vikings as the "ideal landing spot" for Diggs this offseason.

"If Diggs' legal process is resolved, a homecoming to the Minnesota Vikings makes plenty of sense. Jalen Nailor departed for the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency, so there's an opening at Minnesota's WR3 spot after 2022 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Justin Jefferson and former first-round pick Jordan Addison," Podell wrote.

The idea of Diggs reuniting with the Vikings is a fascinating one. The star receiver played his first five seasons in Minnesota, so it would be interesting to see him return there after six seasons away.

When looking at the Vikings' current roster, there is no question that they could use a high-impact receiver like Diggs on their roster. Time will tell if they end up being the team that lands him from here.
