NFL Rumors: Former Browns TE David Njoku Linked to NFC Team
David Njoku is one of the top free agents still available for the taking with April now here. When noting that Njoku is coming off another solid season and has a strong resume, there is no question that he should generate interest from teams looking to upgrade at the tight end position.
Now, Njoku is being linked to an NFC South team because of it.
In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Kristopher Knox predicted where each of the top NFL free agents will sign this offseason. Njoku naturally made the list, and Knox predicted that the Atlanta Falcons will end up being the team that signs him.
"The Atlanta Falcons would be an ideal schematic fit for Njoku, even though they have Kyle Pitts and recently signed Austin Hooper. New Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski was at the helm in Cleveland for many of Njoku's best campaigns," Knox wrote.
When looking at the Falcons' current roster, there is no question that Njoku would be a nice addition to their group. He would give them another strong option to work with at the tight end position, which would not be a bad thing in the slightest for Atlanta.
In 12 games this past season with the Cleveland Browns, Njoku had four touchdowns, 33 receptions, and 293 receiving yards.
