NFL Rumors: Ravens Predicted to Sign 10-Year Veteran DT

DJ Reader, Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens will undoubtedly be a team to keep an eye on as the offseason rolls on. When looking at their current roster, it is clear that they should be looking to strengthen their defense before the season is here.

Due to this, the Ravens are now being linked to one of the top free agents who are still available for the taking.

In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Kristopher Knox predicted that the Ravens will end up being the team that signs veteran defensive tackle D.J. Reader.

"While Wilson reported that other teams are interested in Reader, the prediction here is that he joins the Ravens to be a part of their defensive turnaround," Knox wrote.

When looking at the Ravens' current roster, there is no question that Reader would be a strong addition to their group if signed. He would give them another solid veteran with plenty of experience to work with, which would not be a bad thing at all for a Ravens team that is in need of a boost.

Reader appeared in 17 games during this past season with the Detroit Lions, where he had 28 combined tackles. This was after he had 3.0 sacks and 23 combined tackles during the 2024 season with the Lions.

It will now be interesting to see if the Ravens end up signing Reader. The fit looks very strong on paper.
