Report: Chiefs & Colts Linked To Huge Trade
Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show that Kansas City has been making calls and that it wouldn’t surprise him to see the Chiefs keep trying to add a receiver, but “whether they can get it done, we’ll see.”
Fowler said “even Indianapolis, Josh Downs could be a name to watch.”
Why Kansas City Needs Help
Rashee Rice has been out with a hamstring injury for three weeks, though Fowler said the Chiefs should get him back, and Tyquan Thornton is expected to miss significant time after an ankle injury in the Week 6 win over Las Vegas.
Kansas City lost to Seattle on Sunday night, and rookie Cyrus Allen led the receivers with one catch for 18 yards.

Travis Kelce leads the team with 343 receiving yards and injured Thornton has 219, the only other Chiefs pass-catcher over 200.
Schefter said the bigger issue against Seattle was the offensive tackle spot, and that he still views the Chiefs as a favorite in the AFC.
Fowler also named the Steelers as a team to watch in the receiver market.
Where Downs Fits
Downs is 25, a third-round pick in 2023, and is in the final year of a four-year, $5.52 million rookie contract.
He has 26 receptions for 307 yards in seven games, the most receiving yards on the Colts and more than any wide receiver on the Chiefs.

Downs had two catches for 18 yards in Sunday’s 16-10 loss to the Vikings, which dropped Indianapolis to 2-5.
Schefter and Rapoport reported Sunday that the Colts could start selling pieces if they keep losing, and Pelissero said Saturday that no player on the roster is expected to be off-limits.
Downs is one of several Colts who could be in play if Indianapolis sells.
