NFL Rumors: Browns To Explore Quarterback Market

Although Baker Mayfield is still expected to be the Cleveland Browns' quarterback next season, they still will explore all options at the position during the offseason, according to Mary Kay Cabot.

Cabot noted that the Browns will consider both rookie and veteran quarterbacks as potential replacements for Mayfield. However, that certainly doesn't mean that a potential switch is a guarantee. In fact, at this said juncture, it is more probable than not that Mayfield will have another go as their starter.

In 14 games this season with the Browns, Mayfield had 17 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, and 3,010 passing yards. It certainly was a step back compared to the 2020 campaign, as he had an impressive 26 touchdowns to go along with just eight interceptions that year. He will be looking to rebound with the team this upcoming season and try to get them back into the postseason - assuming they end up going with him as their starter.

It will be intriguing to see what the Browns end up doing from here. Although it's likely Mayfield will be their guy for at least one more season, that could change if they find another QB who they really are impressed by.
