49ers Sign Star Linebacker To Two-Year Extension

The San Francisco 49ers have put together one of the best defences in the entire NFL, and it's been that way for a number of years now, and today, the team locked up one of it's most solid players to a two-year extension, keeping the core of this defensive unit together for two more seasons. Nick Bosa is already locked in for a few more years, and so is the rest of this team, so it's no surprise that today, San Francisco confirmed that they've re-signed Dre Greenlaw for two more years.

The linebacker was drafted in the 5th round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and while his numbers won't blow anyone away on their own, watching this team play week in, week out, it's very clear that he's a key piece of this amazing defensive unit. The deal is worth up to $19 million over the two years, and comes with $10 million guaranteed, and for a fifth round pick, that is a fantastic deal to pick up as a second contract in the NFL.

The 49ers are dealing with the season ending injury of Trey Lance right now, so this is a bit of good news to put out into the world, as now, it appears the defence will be the driving force behind any potential success that San Francisco could have in 2022.
