New York Jets Make QB Decision Ahead Of Week 3

The New York Jets have come into the 2022 season with a promising young core, but most of the expectation is on the offence, who feature potential young stars like Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, Michael Carter and Elijah Moore, but the most important piece to the puzzle is Zach Wilson. The second year QB showed flashes of elite play in 2021, but with all of the new weapons around him, 2022 was expected to be the year where the former BYU stud stepped up and took a giant leap.

Unfortunately for the hapless franchise, Wilson was injured during the first pre-season game against the Philadelphia Eagles, and the fanbase went through a range of emotions, as it was announced Wilson would be out for just 4-6 weeks, after initial expectations were a season ending injury. Then, head coach Robert Saleh announced Wilson would be rested until Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, despite taking major strides in his recovery over the rest of the off-season.

Wilson was seen practicing before Week 2's upset over the Cleveland Browns, but today, the Jets organization made it clear that Wilson won't be back for the crucial Week 3 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals. If Joe Flacco can lead the Jets to another win, Wilson may make this team one that's tough to beat upon return, but for those hoping No. 2 would be back a week early, that's not going to happen, so the countdown remains over a week until fans can see the former No. 2 overall pick in action again.
