Washington Commanders Place Running Back Brian Robinson on NFI

There's some reason for optimism when it comes to Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson. According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the team placed Robinson on the reserve/non-football injury list with the hopes he may be ready as soon as week five:

Robinson was the victim of a tragic shooting during the weekend that saw him sustain non-life threatening injuries to his glute and lower leg. Commanders Head Coach Ron Rivera later shared that Robinson "was in a good place" and Robinson himself revealed that his surgery to mitigate the damage was successful.

Taken 98th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Alabama, Robinson is next up in a long line of recent successful Crimson Tide running backs that includes Najee Harris, Damien Harris, Derrick Henry, and Kenyan Drake. A physical and powerful prospect, some had projected him to start before this weekend's incident. Hopefully, he can recover quickly and fulfill the promise he'd shown during training camp.
