Patriots QB Expected To Return On Monday Night Football

The New England Patriots season looked lost just a few weeks ago when starting Quarterback Mac Jones went down during a loss to the Baltimore Ravens, but since that point, the team has won back-to-back games with Bailey Zappe playing QB, and now, ahead of a very winnable Monday Night Football game against Chicago, it appears Jones is on the cusp of a return.

Jones has missed the past three games after suffering a high-ankle sprain, and although he's been close to returning in recent weeks, this week looks like it's the one, as, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Jones has been taking the majority of first team reps late in the week. With such a solid run game, led by Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson, Jones shouldn't be asked to do too much against a less than stellar Bears team, and if they can come away with the win, they'll keep pace with Miami for third place in the AFC East.

The Patriots may not be as strong as they have been in recent years, but they remain well coached and have some solid talent, and if Mac can get back to what made him a Pro Bowl QB in his rookie year in 2021, this is a team that could certainly win plenty of games down the stretch.
