Dallas Cowboys Could Sign OBJ to Multi-Year Deal

The Dallas Cowboys could be linking up with one of the league's biggest stars long-term. Josina Anderson reports that the team could offer wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. a multi-year deal in the coming weeks so long as "the numbers are reasonable." The Cowboys have been declared the favorites to land Beckham and are set to meet with the three-time Pro Bowler in early December. He is still recovering from an ACL tear suffered in the Los Angeles Rams' Super Bowl LVI 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Given the lateness of Beckham's eventual signing, a multi-year pact makes sense. Barring an extended playoff run by whatever team signs him, he's unlikely to be enough of a contributor this season to radically alter his market. Beckham was largely mediocre through eight games of the regular season for the Rams, nabbing 27 of his 48 targets for 303 yards at an underwhelming 6.4 yards per target.

Beckham did eventually find his footing in the postseason with the Rams, totalling 288 receiving yards at an excellent 11.1 yards per target over four games despite missing much of the Super Bowl. Still, his earliest conceivable debut appears to be Week 14 against the Houston Texans. It's a stretch to believe he'll be up to speed at any point this year.
