Buccaneers Place Linebacker On Season-Ending Injured Reserve

His season is over.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed linebacker Genard Avery on the injured reserve.

Avery suffered an abdomen injury in Week 14 and has been out ever since. He'll now miss the rest of the regular season, but has a chance to return in the postseason if the Buccaneers advance to the divisional round.

In nine games this season, the twenty-seven-year-old has recorded five total tackles and one sack.

In Avery's absence, Anthony Nelson will get plenty of snaps at the outside linebacker position.
