New England Patriots Re-Sign Star Special Teamer

The New England Patriots may have taken a big step back in recent years since the departure of Tom Brady, but with Bill Belichick at the helm, there's no one around the league that should doubt this team and their chances of bouncing back.

One constant over that time has been special teams star Matthew Slater, and yesterday, the Patriots officially announced that they've re-signed him for his 16th season with the franchise, and while he may not be at the level he once was, he's a key leader for this organization.

Over the years, Slater has been a part of 3 Super Bowl wins, along with 10 Pro Bowl's and 5 All-Pro nominations, so this move just makes sense for a team that's desperately needing veteran guidance for them to turn it all around.
