Jacksonville Jaguars Re-Sign Cornerback

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed cornerback Tre Herndon to a one-year deal worth $2.6 million.

Herndon is coming off a 2022 season that saw him record 36 total tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and five passes defended over 15 games.

Although he has primarily served as a backup in the last two years, he has contributed to the team by playing 40% of defensive snaps and 16% on special teams.

With the recent release of Shaq Griffin, Herndon's role could potentially expand in the 2023 season.

Entering his sixth NFL season, the 27-year-old has recorded 197 total tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and 23 passes defended across 67 games played.
