NFL Rumors: Aaron Rogers Still In Talks With One Team
Pickens Traded, But Rodgers Talks Continue
The Steelers sent Pickens, their top receiver, to Dallas for a pair of future draft picks (a 2026 third and a 2027 fifth), a move that raised questions about Pittsburgh’s appeal to a veteran quarterback.
But insiders say the trade was a long time coming, with Pickens’ off-field frustrations and locker room tensions making him expendable. The Steelers already acquired DK Metcalf earlier in the offseason and may not be done. Reports now suggest Allen Lazard—Rodgers’ longtime receiver from Green Bay and New York—could be traded to Pittsburgh next.

Now sign Amari Cooper and the #Steelers could have the best offense in the league in 2020.
Rodgers has made it clear he’s weighing his options. On The Pat McAfee Show, he confirmed speaking "several times" with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and said he’s not trying to hold the team hostage. “If you need to move on, by all means,” Rodgers reportedly told Pittsburgh brass.
Steelers’ Roster Still Hinging on Rodgers
Pittsburgh’s quarterback room currently features Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, and sixth-round rookie Will Howard—widely viewed as one of the weakest depth charts in the NFL.
Despite several bold offseason moves—including trading for Metcalf and signing veteran cornerback Darius Slay—many around the league see no clear direction without a firm answer at quarterback.
