Packers Rookie Out In Week 6

The Green Bay Packers are off to a solid 3-2 start in 2022, but with Aaron Rodgers at Quarterback, the team expects much better production, despite the fact that they explosive weapons they've had in the past just aren't present. One of the names that the team brought in to somewhat help the loss of Davante Adams was Christian Watson, a rookie receiver they drafted in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, but unfortunately, he hasn't quite had the start to his NFL career that the team expected.

The team today officially announced that he would be out in Week 6 at home against the New York Jets, and with the recurring hamstring injuries, there's some consideration from the team to send him to Injured Reserve, giving him the proper time to heal. Through four games, Watson has 7 catches for 52 yards, and considering the injury to Sammy Watkins, many were hoping that he would be able to step up and play a key role alongside Allen Lazard, but right now, the injuries have stopped him from doing so.

If Green Bay do put him on Injured Reserve, it will mean at least a four week absence for the rookie out of North Dakota State, but with Rodgers at QB, if Watson can get healthy and become a consistent presence out there, he will no doubt have the best chance to fulfill his potential.
