NFL Rumors: 3 Landing Spots For David Njoku
Njoku will hit the market at 29, and even with an injury-impacted 2025, he still brings rare size, speed, and tackle-breaking ability for the position.
He has real production in his career too, with multiple 600-yard seasons before last year and a three-year run from 2022 through 2024 where he consistently cleared the 58 catch, 505 yard range with at least four touchdowns each season.
Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons make a ton of sense if Kyle Pitts walks, because Njoku can step right into a high-volume seam role and give Michael Penix Jr. a big-bodied target who can create after the catch.

There is also a familiarity angle here, with Kevin Stefanski tied to Njoku from their Cleveland time together, which makes a difference when a player is trying to reboot his value fast. If Atlanta wants a tight end who can be a real passing game piece without needing to live in the slot, Njoku checks that box.
Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders have a need for a reliable pass-catching tight end after Zach Ertz went down late in the year, and the in house options have not separated as true receiving threats.
I'll always remember David Njoku for his run with Joe Flacco.

Career high catches.
Career high yards.
Career high touchdowns.
The magic run to save the season and make the playoffs doesn't happen without 85.
Good luck David. 🫡 pic.twitter.com/G1EhbpflbJ
Njoku would give Washington a middle-of-the-field weapon who can win on option routes, sit in soft spots, and turn short throws into chunk gains. For a team trying to stabilize its offense and protect its quarterback with quick answers, that role is tailor-made.
New York Giants
The New York Giants are quietly one tight end away from rounding out a young supporting cast, but right now the position is thin, and there is room for a legit athletic starter.
Njoku would help open the seams for Jaxson Dart and add a red zone body who can win through contact, which is valuable when defenses tilt coverage toward Malik Nabers. If New York wants a veteran who can add explosive plays without needing perfect conditions, Njoku is one of the better bets in this free agent group.
