Chargers Designate Running Back To Return From Injured Reserve

He has not played since Week 5.

The Los Angeles Chargers have designated running back Joshua Kelley to return from the injured reserve.

The Chargers now have a 21-day window to evaluate the running back in practice and add him to the active roster. However, head coach Brandon Staley said that if Kelley has a good week of practice there's a good chance he could be activated for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Once he returns, Kelley will look to return to his No. 2 role behind Austin Ekeler in the Chargers' backfield. In six games this season, the twenty-five-year-old has 104 rushing yards and one touchdown on 23 attempts.

He is a former fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Chargers.
