Jets Rule Out Wide Receiver and Defensive Tackle for Week 11

The New York Jets are gearing up for a crucial AFC East matchup with the New England Patriots, but they'll be without at least two key contributors. Head coach Robert Saleh ruled out wide receiver Corey Davis and defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins for Sunday's matchup.

Davis has missed the previous two games with a knee injury suffered in the Jets' Week 7 16-9 win over the Denver Broncos. Rankins has started all nine games for the Jets this season but suffered a dislocated elbow in the team's 20-17 win over the Buffalo Bills.

Davis and Rankins have been crucial cogs for the Jets all year. Davis ranks second on the team with 351 receiving yards and has averaged an impressive 10.3 yards per target, and Rankins sports an impressive 74.5 overall grade from Pro Football Focus. Their absences could loom large against a Patriots team that already defeated the Jets 22-17 in Week 8.

Davis and Rankins both joined the Jets as free agents in the 2021 offseason. Davis was the bigger splash of the two, earning a three-year, $37.5 million contract after four years and 2851 receiving yards with the Tennessee Titans. Rankins signed a two-year, $11 million deal after five up-and-down years with the New Orleans Saints.
