New York Giants Wide Receiver a Surprise Inactive

The New York Giants will be without one of their pass catchers for their crucial Week 13 NFC East showdown with the Washington Commanders. Wide receiver Kenny Golladay is inactive today after being a surprise addition to the team's injury report this weekend due to an illness. Golladay practiced in full from Wednesday to Friday. He was added to the injury report on Saturday after coming down with an unlisted illness.

Once the prize of the Giants' 2021 free agency class, Golladay has fallen off the map with the team this season under the supervision of new head coach Brian Daboll. After snatching 37 receptions for 521 yards in 2021, Golladay is down to a pitiful four receptions for 51 yards in seven appearances this year. Missing today's game will likely reduce him to even more of an afterthought in the Giants' scheme.

Golladay joined the Giants on a four-year, $72 million deal in 2020 after four years with the Detroit Lions. He totalled 3068 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns over 48 appearances with the Lions and even nabbed a league-leading 11 receiving touchdowns in his 2019 Pro Bowl season. He has yet to live up to expectations with the Giants.
