Buffalo Bills Offer Another Promising Update on Safety Hamlin

The Buffalo Bills were witnesses to an unfortunate tragedy when their safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football. Thankfully, good news has begun to trickle out. The team released a statement today informing fans that Hamlin is neurologically intact and is making steady progress.

Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest in the first quarter of the Bills' Monday Night Football showdown with Cincinnati Bengals. He was resuscitated on the field and rushed via ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition. The game was suspended indefinitely and is in danger of being cancelled outright.

Any good news on Hamlin is welcome, but the modest indicators of progress cited speak to the severity of the safety's situation. Hamlin may be neurologically intact, and his lungs may be healing, but he clearly has a long way to go before a full recovery. Hopefully, the NFL and its fans will continue to show him and his family the support they need.
