NFL Trade Rumors: Top 3 Jalen Ramsey Landing Spots

Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey celebrates during 2025 game.

The Miami Dolphins appear headed toward a post-June 1 divorce with star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and several teams have surfaced as viable suitors.

With Miami looking to offload Ramsey’s hefty contract and gain cap flexibility, contenders with roster holes in the secondary are watching closely. According to multiple reports, interest around the league has quietly picked up, and June 1 is the key date—when Miami could save nearly $6 million in cap space by moving him.

Here are three teams that make the most sense for a Ramsey trade:

Los Angeles Rams: A Familiar Fit for a Championship Push

A reunion in L.A. feels logical for both sides. Sean McVay has kept the door open for a return, confirming the Rams are in “ongoing conversations” about bringing Ramsey back. The 30-year-old was instrumental in the Rams’ 2021 Super Bowl run, and with Matthew Stafford nearing the end of his career, McVay could use another proven defensive playmaker.

The Rams have refrained from making major additions at corner this offseason, and a trade package—reportedly including Cobie Durant and two 2026 draft picks—has already been floated by analysts. While his contract carries weight, Ramsey's production (career-best passer rating allowed in Miami) suggests he can still make a significant impact.

Cincinnati Bengals: Fixing a Flawed Secondary

If Joe Burrow is healthy, the Bengals are contenders—but last year’s defense held them back. Cincinnati ranked 25th in both yards and points allowed and didn’t address cornerback in either free agency or the draft. That’s a risky strategy in an AFC stacked with elite passing attacks.

New defensive coordinator Al Golden could use a veteran like Ramsey to stabilize the back end, especially with the Bengals' cap space and playoff window in mind. If they want to return to Super Bowl contention, this is the kind of swing worth taking.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Adding a Leader to a Young Secondary

The Bucs have quietly built a solid roster, but their 29th-ranked pass defense last season is a glaring weakness. While they drafted two corners in Benjamin Morrison and Jacob Parrish, neither offers the leadership and versatility that Ramsey brings. With Baker Mayfield under center and a wide-open NFC South, Tampa has an opportunity to go from solid to dangerous.

Ramsey, who has openly discussed the idea of transitioning to safety later in his career, could offer flexibility and experience. And with over $20 million in cap space, the Bucs can afford to take the financial hit—especially with Ramsey’s name value and track record.

A trade isn’t guaranteed, but if the Dolphins move Ramsey after June 1, expect teams like the Rams, Bengals, and Buccaneers to be in the mix.
