Insider Reveals Big New Development On Breece Hall's Future In New York

New York Jets running back Breece Hall runs with the ball during 2025 game.

Breece Hall’s future with the New York Jets is growing murkier by the day.

While head coach Aaron Glenn has publicly supported the 24-year-old running back, insiders like ESPN’s Rich Cimini suggest Hall could be on the move if the Jets falter early in the season. With Hall entering a contract year and his rushing production declining for two straight seasons, the team may prefer to get value for him at the trade deadline rather than risk losing him for nothing.

Glenn’s praise of rookie backs Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis only adds fuel to the fire. “I don’t know if there are three backs in this league with the potential these three have,” Glenn said, emphasizing the team’s desire to lean into a run-heavy offense.

Still, Hall remains confident, telling reporters at minicamp that he’s “going to prove” he’s the best back on the roster, despite revealing his 2024 season was hampered more by injury than many realized.

Four Teams Emerge as Trade Suitors

If New York decides to shop Hall, several playoff hopefuls could come calling. The Los Angeles Chargers are searching for speed behind Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton. The Dallas Cowboys, with one of the league’s weakest RB rooms, could be in the mix if Jaydon Blue isn’t ready to lead.

The New Orleans Saints, now without Derek Carr, may look for a future Kamara replacement, and the Kansas City Chiefs might not trust a fading Kareem Hunt or injury-prone Isiah Pacheco to carry the load during another title run.

With a $9 million price tag, Hall isn’t cheap, but he's also young, explosive, and proven when healthy. If he rebounds in 2025, he’ll command a serious contract next offseason. But if the Jets stumble out of the gate, flipping Hall for draft capital while grooming Allen and Davis could become the smarter long-term play.
