The 26-year-old wide receiver took to Instagram over the weekend to provide his first detailed update since being released by the Buffalo Bills with an injury settlement last August. “I am back to being the strongest and fastest I’ve ever been,” Claypool wrote. “I couldn’t be more excited to step back out on the field and let my actions speak for themselves.”

Claypool Reflects on Bills Stint, Fires Back at Past Teams
In his emotional message, Claypool expressed gratitude to the Bills and quarterback Josh Allen for embracing him, saying signing in Buffalo was “the best thing that could’ve ever happened to me.” He added that he climbed from 14th-string to first-team reps before his season-ending injury.
At the same time, Claypool appeared to take a shot at his previous stops, saying he felt “suppressed” over the last two seasons, an apparent reference to his stints with the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins. His struggles in Chicago after being acquired for what became the No. 32 overall pick were well-documented, and his time in Miami was short-lived.

Will a Team Take a Chance on Claypool?
Claypool, a former second-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers, had a promising start to his career with 11 touchdowns in his first two seasons. But a combination of injuries, inconsistent usage, and off-field concerns have sent him down a journeyman path.
Still, at 6-foot-4 and 238 pounds, he offers intriguing upside as a training camp depth addition. The CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders hold his Canadian rights, but Claypool is clearly focused on getting back into the NFL and proving he can still produce.
