NFL Trade Rumors: Seahawks Urged To Trade Former 2nd Round Pick
With the 2025 season approaching, the Seattle Seahawks are reportedly considering trading running back Kenneth Walker III.
According to Matt Holder of Bleacher Report, Walker’s declining production, injury history, and looming free agency make him a prime candidate to be flipped for draft picks. Despite leading the team in touches in 2024, his efficiency dipped for the second straight year, and his role could shrink further as younger backs emerge.

Charbonnet, Martinez Give Seahawks Options
The Seahawks may be in a good position to move on. Zach Charbonnet averaged 4.2 yards per carry in 2024 and proved to be a more decisive, north-south runner than Walker. Rookie Damien Martinez, a seventh-round pick, is also turning heads in camp, while Kenny McIntosh averaged 5.5 yards per carry last season.
If Seattle feels confident in its depth, trading Walker before the deadline could net a mid-round pick and offer more clarity in the backfield.

Health, O-line Play Cloud Walker’s Outlook
Walker is only 24 and has elite tackle-dodging ability, but his style hasn’t consistently translated into results. He led the NFL in tackles avoided per carry in 2024, yet finished with just 573 rushing yards in 11 games.
His tendency to bounce runs outside and frequent negative plays, coupled with shaky O-line support, have limited his effectiveness. If he doesn’t improve in training camp, Seattle may act fast to get value before losing him in free agency.
