NFL Rumors: Bills & Eagles Linked to Offseason Blockbuster Trade

Philadelphia Eagles head Coach Nick Sirianni reacts during 2026 game.

The Buffalo Bills’ season ended in brutal fashion with a 33-30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round, and the immediate takeaway was hard to miss: Josh Allen can still drag Buffalo deep into January, but the offense does not have a true, week-breaking No. 1 wideout.

That is exactly why the early offseason noise has already started pointing toward a blockbuster, with ESPN’s Ben Solak predicting the Bills get aggressive and trade a first-round pick and more to land Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown.

Why Buffalo is being pushed toward a blockbuster

Buffalo’s current receiver room has too many “nice pieces” and not enough fear.

Khalil Shakir led the Bills in 2025 with 72 catches for 719 yards, which says more about the overall room than it does about Shakir’s reliability.

If the Bills want to maximize Allen’s window, they need a perimeter alpha who wins against top corners, converts third-and-long, and forces defenses to stop loading up elsewhere.

Why A.J. Brown chatter will not go away

Brown checks every box Buffalo has been missing, and his resume is already elite.

He finished 2025 with 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns, his fourth straight 1,000-yard season since arriving in Philadelphia, and he is a three-time Pro Bowler who has also posted multiple 1,400-plus yard seasons for the Eagles.

The Eagles are publicly pushing back, with GM Howie Roseman calling Brown “a great player” and stressing how hard it is to find guys like him, but the frustration storyline has followed Brown at times, especially this season, which is why teams like Buffalo will at least explore the price.
