Former Ravens Wide Receiver Announces Retirement
Miles Boykin is officially walking away from football.
The former Baltimore Ravens third-round pick announced his NFL retirement on Instagram, closing the book on a pro career that never turned into a featured receiving role but still carved out real value through special teams work and timely end zone production.
Miles Boykin retirement closes a Ravens era that never fully took off
Baltimore traded up to take Boykin 93rd overall in the 2019 NFL Draft after his breakout run at Notre Dame, betting on size, speed, and upside.
He showed flashes early, finishing his Ravens stint with 33 catches for 470 yards and seven touchdowns across three seasons, but he never developed into a consistent weekly target and was used heavily on special teams.

By the time the Ravens moved on in 2022, Boykin had become more of a role player than the emerging starter the pick suggested.
What Boykin did after Baltimore and why he steps away now
Boykin landed with the Pittsburgh Steelers and spent two seasons in the AFC North again, mostly as a core special teams piece with limited offensive snaps.
His last regular season action came in 2023, and he later bounced through practice squad stops with the New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks, and Chicago Bears while trying to catch on for another shot.
He finishes with 73 NFL games, 38 receptions for 498 yards, seven touchdowns, and a reputation as a tough depth option who did the little jobs coaches trust, including 17 special teams tackles.

At 29, Boykin could have kept grinding through another camp battle, but he chose the next chapter instead, thanking coaches, teammates, fans, and family for the ride and saying he is excited for what comes next.
