NFL Rumors: Vikings Could Trade Jordan Addison
The Minnesota Vikings fired GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah just as the offseason ramps up, creating the kind of front office reset where rival teams start circling the roster for opportunity.
Addison is entering Year 4 as a former first-round pick, but he is now eligible for an extension, and his availability has been a recurring conversation point after a three-game suspension to open the 2025 season.
Why Addison’s name is suddenly louder in trade talks
Addison has already shown he can be a legit difference maker when things are stable, with a decorated background that includes the Fred Biletnikoff Award in college and an early NFL splash that put him on the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
Even in a down 2025, he still finished with 42 catches for 610 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns, and his career line sits at 175 receptions for 2,396 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Addison’s three-game suspension, plus more recent off-field noise, is a major reason ESPN’s Kevin Seifert has framed any long-term commitment as tricky, especially with the Vikings also trying to keep their receiver depth intact.
Bills and 49ers keep coming up
The buzz is tying Addison to receiver-needy contenders, and two names keep popping up: the Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers.
A report indicated the 49ers have been aggressive in looking for a wideout and have targeted Addison, with Buffalo also mentioned as an interested team, which would make sense given they are always looking to add firepower around Josh Allen.

From Minnesota’s angle, the money and depth pieces matter as Jalen Nailor is headed to free agency after a 2025 season of 29 catches for 444 yards and 4 touchdowns, and the Vikings have to decide how many pass catchers they can realistically keep while reshaping the roster post-GM firing.
If Minnesota chooses flexibility over risk on an extension, Addison is exactly the kind of talented, controllable receiver teams try to pry loose before draft weekend.
