Detroit Lions Sign 7-Year Veteran Wide Receiver
Wilson, 30, enters his ninth NFL season having spent time with the Cowboys, Dolphins, Saints, Falcons, Eagles, and now the Lions across a career that began when Dallas selected him in the sixth round out of Boise State in the 2018 draft.

Lions Signed Cedrick Wilson Jr.
His best professional years came in Dallas between 2018 and 2021, where he developed into a reliable depth receiver and special teams contributor before signing a two-year, $5.75 million deal with Miami in 2022.
He appeared in 10 games for the Dolphins in 2025 after being claimed off the Saints' practice squad in October, finishing with five catches for 44 yards.
The Lions' receiver room features Amon-Ra St. Brown as the clear WR1 alongside Jahmyr Gibbs in the backfield, with first-round rookie Jahdae Barron and second-year receiver Antoine Green competing for roles behind him.

Wilson gives Detroit a veteran presence with special teams experience who has worked in multiple offensive systems throughout his career, which fits the Lions' preference for adding experienced depth behind young contributors rather than relying on inexperienced players in high-leverage moments.
He was one of eight veterans released from the Dolphins' offseason roster in March and has been a free agent since.
At a likely veteran minimum deal, the financial investment is minimal and the organizational benefit of adding nine years of NFL experience to a young depth chart is tangible.
